SUBLIMATION MOUNTING/LAMINATING GLOSSARY           SITE MAP
The Thermvac 1300 Sublimation Heat Press is a versatile, large format, flat vacuum heat transfer press that has a wide variety of applications.

Primarily designed for the dye sublimation market, the heat press is also used for hot and cold mounting and laminating, as well as vinyl transfers. Hot melt fabric stiffeners can also be applied with the press. The heat press is ideal for users who have larger work pieces, articles that cannot be processed in multiple bites or those who need to press many small, and / or different sized items at the same time to increase productivity.

Our heatpress can cope with a wide variety of substrates including fabrics, board, glass, metal, wood, plastics and ceramic tiles.

Vacuum heat presses work by using a diaphragm vacuum pump to create a vacuum between a rigid heated platen and a flexible diaphragm, so using atmospheric pressure to apply the required force to the materials being pressed. This method can provide greater and more uniform pressure than a traditional hardbed heat transfer press in a machine that is far lighter and less cumbersome than a flat hardbed press of similar size. The advantages and disadvantages of vacuum presses are discussed more fully in the heat press overview page.
