The
Thermvac large format Vacuum Heat Press is a versatile, high temperature, large working area, flat vacuum heat transfer press that
has a wide variety of applications and can be used for almost any purpose currently served by a standard flat bed heated or cold press and has added advantages.
Primarily designed for the dye sublimation market, the
heat press
is also used for hot and cold mounting and laminating, as well as vinyl transfers and a variety of other applications such as tiles, signs or graphic posters, mouse mats, fabric design, print prototyping and previewing to name a few.
Hot melt fabric stiffeners can for instance be applied with the press and one of our customers is using the heat press for this purpose as a teaching tool at a learning institution.
The heat press
is ideal for users who have larger work pieces, articles that cannot be
processed in multiple bites or those who need to process many small,
and / or different sized items at the same time to increase
productivity.
Our heatpress can cope with a wide variety of substrates including fabrics,
board, glass, metal, wood, plastics and ceramic tiles.
Vacuum heat presses work by using a
diaphragm vacuum pump
to create a vacuum between a rigid heated platen and a flexible diaphragm,
so using atmospheric pressure to apply the required force to
the materials being pressed. This method can provide greater and
more uniform pressure than a traditional hardbed heat transfer press in a
machine that is far lighter and less cumbersome than a traditional flat
hard bed press of similar size. The advantages and disadvantages of
vacuum presses are discussed more fully in the heat press overview page.
